Thank you for showing an interest in our school.
Having served as a teacher at the school for 23 years, I know what a truly special place our school is. I feel immensely proud to be the Headteacher leading our fantastic school through the next stage of its exciting journey.
The Snaith School is part of The Education Alliance (TEAL). We are a school of 840 students rooted in the local community of Snaith and the surrounding villages. One of our many strengths is the size of our school. We are small enough to feel like a family and we pride ourselves on knowing and appreciating students as individuals. However, we are large enough to offer a wide and exciting curriculum, and run numerous sporting teams, productions and concerts.
Our aim is for our students to enjoy school, be happy, confident and successful so they are able to fulfil their dreams and aspirations. We offer our students the personalised support, care, guidance and encouragement needed to thrive.
We are ambitious for every child and extremely passionate about maximising life chances. We want all of our students to leave us with the best possible outcomes, a wide range of memorable experiences, an abundance of positive memories and lifelong friendships.
At The Snaith School we do our utmost to help all our children succeed. We prioritise the highest standards of behaviour and respect, insisting on excellent manners, courtesy and uniform. We are proud of our reputation for academic success, traditional values and excellent pastoral care. We encourage all our students to work hard, believe in themselves and always aim high. Our rewards programme guarantees that students are always recognised for their efforts and that their achievements will always be celebrated.
We are delighted that Ofsted recognised our ambition and drive, but also our strong sense of community. They described our school as; a school that does not stand still. They said: it provides a good quality of education for its students, yet does not rest on it’s laurels. They described our school as; a place where students are proud to attend, a friendly place, where differences are not just accepted but welcomed and celebrated.
Ofsted also recognised the strength of behaviour in school and stated: Behaviour in lessons is positive. Teachers can teach and pupils can learn. Behaviour in social areas is calm and pupils get along well with each other, and with staff.’ We educate our students to be responsible, mature and kind citizens and follow our key principles of being “Ready, Respectful and Safe” at all times.
We are committed to developing the whole child. Examination results and what students learn are incredibly important, but it is also essential that our children are happy, know how to keep themselves physically and mentally healthy and that they are successfully prepared for life beyond school.
Students in our school benefit from a curriculum that is broad and balanced, ambitious and academic, enabling them to make good progress towards academic targets. Our curriculum is designed to remove barriers so that all students have better lives and make positive contributions to their community. We aim to expand the knowledge and skills that students have beyond what they need to pass a test. We ensure our students experience exciting opportunities both within and outside of the classroom, enriching learning with a full programme of extra-curricular activities, trips and visits. It matters to us that students create memorable experiences that stay with them for a lifetime.
We appreciate that a good education can only be achieved if we have great teaching in every classroom. Our aim is to ensure the best staff want to work for us and choose to stay with us. We recognise the importance of investing heavily in our team of staff, providing professional development that is grounded in research and that maximises opportunities to share ideas and expertise across all of our schools for the benefit of all our students.
We are enormously proud of our school, its amazing staff and students. I hope this website gives you a flavour of our wonderful school.
Best wishes
Mrs H Yates
