Photography Art and Design

Welcome

GCSE Photography (AQA)

GCSE Photography follows the same Assessment objectives as GCSE Art.

Pupils are encouraged to explore dark room techniques, learn about different features of the camera. Pupils are also encouraged to learn image manipulation techniques through Photoshop. Pupils also broaden their understanding of appropriate artists and processes.

Year 10

Term One – Pupils explore photograms as their introduction to photography, developing darkroom techniques. Pupils also explore drawing with light as a form of Art. Pupils develop researching skills, looking at artists who have worked in these mediums.

Term Two – Pupils begin a ‘Macro# project, learning about settings on cameras and producing quality, edited photographs. Learning how to develop ideas and present their work well.

Term Three – Pupils will be given a past exam question – developing their independence and ability to produce personal responses to a starting point.

Year 11 - (Same structure as Art GCSE)
